May 7, 1999.
VAULT I is launched successfully from White Sands Missile Range. It obtains
5 minutes of Lyman alpha observations of the solar atmosphere with 0.3
- 0.7 arcsecond spatial resolution. The payload is recovered without damage.
June 14, 2002.
VAULT II is launched successfully from White Sands Missile Range. It obtains
6 minutes of Lyman alpha observations of the solar atmosphere with 0.3
arcsecond spatial resolution. The payload is recovered without damage.
July 7, 2005. VAULT-III was launched successfully but it did not obtain any useful science data due to an electronics failure. The payload was recovered with moderate damage.
Currently. VAULT is in storage at NRL. It may be refurbished for an SDO underflight if funds become available.
