Solar Reference Spectra

Composite Solar Irradiance Reference Spectra

Two solar irradiance reference spectra corresponding to different levels of of solar activity are provided for 29 March 1992 and 11 November 1994. These spectra which span a wavelength range of 0.1 to 2400 nm are based on the combined measurements of several instruments during the time period of the NASA-sponsored ATLAS-1 and ATLAS-3 missions, respectively. Thuillier et al. (2004, ASR) presents these composite spectra. A more complete description given in the companion Thuillier et al. (2004, AGU).

In each of these two data files, the first column contains the wavelength in nm; the second column contains the spectral irradiance in units of mW/m^2/nm (or alternatively, W/m^2/µm).
